The show is currently run by four volunteers, Scott Bibbs, Drew Cari, Brian DeWitt, and a newcomer, Joe. There is no real boss or director for the show itself, but rather it depends on the consensus of these four. They vary in their professions, in their activism (from extreme activist to one who has no other gay affiliation), and in their personalities. Dedicated nonprofessionals, their most common thread is a commitment to the show. Preparing the show is an ongoing entailing keeping up process, with local and national gay events and developments, tlien planning and writing the show. Much of the work done on Monday nights, is

While there is a great deal of work involved, Cari says that it is quite fun, with. the ribbing, jokes, and lunacy that go with the field.

the basic issue of coming out for gay men and their children was lead by two social workers, Karen Cimini and Darrell Greene from the Akron Family Institute. Both are also therapy coordinators for the Health Issues (HIT). Wednesday evening's agenda is typical for the dozen-plus men that meet at 7:30pm, usually the first Thursday of each month. Gay men who married and became fathers have a common ground for support and brought this organization into existance over 9 years ago. membership has changed but a core has remained for the last 2 years.

Married gays who lead or have lead traditional lives with the added responsibility of children tend to relate. two backgrounds are the same, but transitions to or yearnings for a quality gay life are similar. Several of the gay fathers have commented that the lasting friendships. they have formed are invaluable (one member said the same about the potlucks). The membership age range is from the 20's to the 60's. The openness between the men is a tremendous asset, noted both Cimini and Greene.
